Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!!

 

Today across the U.S. children will be celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday and I didn't want to be the exception. I made a cool pattern to share with all of you and hope you like it as much as i did.

Crochet hook 5.00 mm Child size
Crochet hook 5.50 mm Adult size
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker

Beanie (Orange)
This Beanie is crochet in rounds, you need a stitch marker at the beginning of each round.

Round 1
MC 8 hdc

Round 2

2 hdc in next st and in each st around

Round 3

*2 hdc in the next st, hdc in the next st *repeat from

Round 4

* 2 hdc in the next st, hdc in the next 2 st *repeat from

Round 5

*2hdc in the next st, hdc in the next 3 st * repeat from

Round 6
*2hdc in the next st, hdc in the next 4 st * repeat from
 

Round 7

* 2hdc in the next st, hdc in the next 5 st *repeat from

Round 8

*2hdc in the next st, hdc in the next 6 st * repeat from

Round 9

hdc in the next st and each st around

 

Round 9-18

Repeat round 9

Round 19
hdc in the same st and each st around, do not fasten off


1st EarFlap
With the yarn still attached sl st into the next 5 sts

Row 1
Chain 2, hdc in the same st as chain 2, hdc in the next 10 st (12 sts)
sl st to the top of ch 2

Row 2
Chain 2, turn your work around, hdc2tog, hdc in the next 8 sts, sl st to top of ch
2 (10 sts)

Row 3
Chain 2, turn your work around, hdc2tog, hdc in the next 6 sts, sl st to top of ch 2 (8 sts)

Row 4
Chain 2, turn your worn around, hdc2tog, hdc in the next 4 sts, sl st to top of ch 2 (6sts)

Row 5
Chain 2, turn your work around, hdc2tog, hdc in the next 2 st, sl st to top of ch 2 (4 sts)
Fasten off.

2nd earflap
Count 29 sts and attach yarn in the next st.
Repeat row 1-5 from the 1st earflap

 

 

Eyes

Round 1(Blue)
MC 10 dc join with sl st to top of the 1st DC

Round 2
switch to white ch 2, hdc in the same st, hdc in the next, *2 hdc in the next, hdc in the next *repeat from Fasten off

Nose

Round 1

MC 10 sc, join with sl st to top of 1st sc

Round 2-3

Sc in each st, fasten off .

 

Mustaches (make 24)

Ch 18, fasten off

 

Eyebrows (make 6)

Ch 10, fasten off

 

Sew eyes, buttons, nose, mustaches and eyebrows as seen in the picture
